3 girls arrested, including 12-year-old, in Tacoma, WA Kia theft

A 12-year-old, 14-year-old, and 15-year-old girl were all arrested on New Year's Day for allegedly driving around in a stolen Kia.

According to Tacoma police, the girls were spotted driving in a stolen Kia Optima, and officers tried to pull the car over.

Then, police say the three girls ditched the car and started running. Officers were able to catch and arrest all three of them.

Officers say one of the girls had a USB cable, which is notoriously used to steal Kias and Hyundais.

The Puget Sound Auto Theft Task-Force (PSATT) is putting out a warning to drivers after a "challenge" went viral on TikTok which shows people how to steal certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles.

The two teens were taken to Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center, while the 12-year-old was taken back to her family in Auburn.
