WENATCHEE, Wash –A lightning storm late Monday sparked a number of new wildfires across north-central Washington.
The U.S. Forest Service said one of the largest new fires was the Stokes Road Fire near Carlton and Gold Creek in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
The Stokes Road Fire has grown to 600 acres.

Because conditions remain so explosive, USFS is asking anyone who spots smoke or a fire to report it immediately.
