KENT -- Today's surprise turned into quite an emotional one, when we told special education teacher Jolene Thomas what one of the parents of her students said about her:

"My son is special needs; he has a bunch of behavioral disorders... and is a fourth grader at Panther Lake Elementary in Kent. We have struggled for years with his needs, and being able to fit in. Jolene Thomas has been his special education teacher for two years now. She is beyond awesome; she makes sure his needs are met and takes extra attention to just make sure he is OK. She really cares about her kids 100% and I would love to see her recognized. It takes a special person to have the strength, patience and compassion she has to work with these kids and make them feel 'normal'."

Congratulations, Ms. Thomas, and thank you so much to the entire staff and student body of Panther Lake for welcoming us and making the surprise that much more special!

Each of the teachers we're surprising this week are receiving some amazing gifts, thanks to Macy's, Rodeo Donut,Walmart, and Seattle Premium Outlets!
