HUH?! Man asks for $10 online to make potato salad... he's already earned $2,100

Kickstarter page

What a strange world we live in.

If you're not familiar with Kickstarter, it's a fundraising site that allows people to set a goal and ask for donations from strangers.

A man named Zack 'Danger' Brown decided he wanted to make potato salad for the first time.

"Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet," he wrote on the Kickstarter page.

He asked for $10 and met his goal quickly.

But then the donations kept coming in: $35, $75, $100. So Zack decided to keep setting new goals.

That's when things really took off. Now, people have donated more than $2,100 to the potato salad project -- and there's no end in sight.

Here are his latest goals:

Arguably the best news of all -- Zack plans to throw a potato salad party if he can raise $3,000, and you're invited.

Zack's only warning: "It might not be that good. It's my first potato salad."
