Can I give cops my DNA whether I'm wanted or not?

Q: Can I go to a police station to give my DNA, even though I'm not wanted for anything? -- Peggielee

A: "No. We don't typcially just take DNA from people, simply because they just want to give it. The only times that we'd really ask a person for their DNA when they're not accused of a criminal offense, would be for the purposes of comparing their DNA to DNA, say, found at a crime scene, or for matching them up to a missing person." -- Duvall Police Sgt. Lori Batiot
