Venezuela earthquake death toll tops 2,300
Rescuers pulled a 43-year-old security guard alive from a collapsed basement eight days after two earthquakes struck northern Venezuela. The 7.2 and 7.5 quakes destroyed tens of thousands of buildings and killed over 2,200 people. Hundreds of American personnel are now on the ground assisting with the country’s recovery and aid delivery.
