KING COUNTY -- Police officers are looking to speak with two individuals after reports of a child luring attempt surfaced in a Lake Forest Park mothers' group online, when a mom said two people may have planned to abduct her 4-year-old son from a fenced in backyard.
Lake Forest Park officers responded to suspicious circumstances after receiving calls from a concerned mother Tuesday. Though no crime has been committed, police said, the police department is looking to investigate a possible luring attempt.
The luring is suspected to be related to an incident reported yesterday on a neighborhood Facebook group.
In the group, a mother of a 4-year-old boy reported she was in a fenced in yard hanging out with her son when the doorbell rang. The mother went to the door and encountered a man. The man -- described in the Facebook group as having red hair -- allegedly seemed to make up a story in an attempt at taking up the mother's time.
The mother grew suspicious, she said, and shut the door and walked back to the yard. There, she found her son talking to a red-haired woman who through the fence. A burgundy sedan with all three doors open was running next to the woman as she spoke to the child.
When the mom entered the back yard, the woman and the man from the front of the house got into the car and left, the mother said in the Facebook group.
Police described the man of interest as a white male in his 60s with short reddish-brown hair, wearing a gray Sean John t-shirt and baseball cap. The female was described as a white female in her 60s with curly red hair, wearing a blue colored T-shirt.
Again, neither person is suspect of a crime. However, police are interested in talking to them.
