2 boys hurt after being hit by car in Kirkland, WA
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Two 12-year-old boys were hurt earlier this week after they were hit by a driver in Kirkland.
The crash happened off 84th Avenue Northeast in the Fill Hill neighborhood on Monday afternoon.
According to police, the 81-year-old driver told police he fell asleep behind the wheel, left the roadway and struck the two boys who were on a pedestrian walkway adjacent to the road. The driver called 911 after the crash.
One boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center and the other was taken to Evergreen. Both had non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and police said he has been fully cooperative with the investigation.
