WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — A Washington Department of Corrections spokesman says a fight involving 17 inmates at the state penitentiary outside Walla Walla has injured three offenders.
DOC spokesman Andrew Garber said the fight broke out Wednesday morning in a prison yard and was quickly controlled. He said two inmates were being treated at a local hospital for their injuries while a third was being treated at the prison's medical facility.
No staff members were hurt.
Garber says that because of the fight, all West Complex Units at the prison have been put in lockdown.
The penitentiary houses more than 2,400 inmates.
