AUBURN -- A 7-year-old boy is in the hospital after his face was injured in a fireworks mishap.
According to the Valley Regional Fire Authority, emergency crews received a call around 7:30 p.m. Monday that a boy was injured at the Muckleshoot Fireworks Stand. The boy was transported to Auburn Multicare Medical Center with facial injuries, crews said.
His current condition is unknown. A representative with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe said the boy was not seriously wounded, and he was standing too close to the firework when it went off.
The boy's age was originally reported as 4, fire crews said, but this was incorrect.
