AUBURN -- A man serving time in prison for robbing multiple banks and restaurants in the Puget Sound while masterminding a teenage robbery ring says everyone deserves to feel safe at work, and he's sorry for violating that right while perpetrating his crimes.
Robert Cal Adams III, known as the Rabid Fan Bandit by the FBI for his love of multiple sports team hats, was one of Washington's Most Wanted fugitives last year for robbing at least seven banks and restaurants. According to the Seattle Times, Adams was involved in 16 bank robberies in total, and was the mastermind of a bank robbery ring that allegedly included a trio of teenage boys.
Adams was arrested in late April 2014 just two days after taking a taxicab to rob a Des Moines bank.
Now serving time in prison for his crimes, Adams wrote a letter to the Auburn Reporter apologizing for his actions. The letter was published Friday as a Letter to the Editor in the local paper.
