Homicide victim found in swamp in Everett, police say

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police said Friday they have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a man was found in a swamp in the 3400 block of Eclipse Mill Road.

After receiving a tip from a passerby on Thursday, officers found the body of an adult man partially submerged in the swamp.

"Once recovered, it appeared the male died of homicidal means," police said.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, as well as the man's identity.
