Light snow falls across parts of Lewis, Pierce, King counties; windy overnight

SEATTLE – Don’t put your heavy coat away.

Light snow was falling in Lewis County and in eastern parts of Pierce and King counties Tuesday night. Towns like Chehalis, Eatonville and Yelm were getting a quick shot of snow.

"Most places will see an inch or less in these areas, but some on the high hills will get 2 inches," said Q13 News Meteorologist Walter Kelley. "This just adds to the cold, icy, slick roads for Wednesday morning commutes. Please drive slowly and expect slick roads."

Temperatures will stay very cold through Saturday, with some areas experiencing heavy winds and others some snow, Kelley said Tuesday.

“Please drive slowly,” Kelley said.

He’s not kidding.

Roads will likely be quite icy every night and morning, when lows throughout Western Washington will hit the 20s and areas in the north part of the state hit single-digits when accounting for wind chill.

Wednesday will also feature the full “Wolf” moon.
