Man arrested after attempting dumbest selfie ever

SPOKANE -- A 33-year-old Spokane man was arrested Sunday for allegedly trying to pet and take a picture with an agitated moose found wandering around a cemetery.

According to the Spokesman Review, the moose was spotted by workers Sunday at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officers were called to the scene and tried to corral the agitated moose. But according to the Review, while the officers were trying to corner the moose, 33-year-old Joseph Patterson approached the animal and told officers he wanted to pet it and get a picture with it.

The officers told him not to, but the man allegedly moved forward anyway. Wildlife officers stepped in to stop the man and they engaged in a brief struggle with Patterson, the Review reported, who grabbed an officer's Taser and threw it away.

Spokane police called to the scene arrested Patterson, who was allegedly found with illegal prescription drugs.

He was jailed on suspicion of assault, resisting arrest and drug possession, the Review reported.

In the end, it is not known if the moose was captured during the incident.
