Marysville babysitter arrested for murder in 4-month-old girl's death
MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Marysville police detectives arrested a 22-year-old woman for murder this week in the death of a 4-month-old girl last February.
The woman was babysitting the girl, who the medical examiner ruled died of what was once known as “Shaken Baby Syndrome,” but is now known as Anoxic Encephalopathy.
The woman, a family friend, was babysitting the child at her home in the 6600 block of 94th St. NE in Marysville on Feb. 26. She called 911 that morning to say the baby wasn’t breathing.
Q13 News isn't naming the woman because she hasn't been charged with a crime.
The girl was sent to Harborview Medical Center and placed on life support, but died on Feb. 29.
The arrest was delayed as police waited for lab and forensic results.
