PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A search has resumed for a plane and pilot missing on a flight through the Willamette Valley.
KGW-TV reported Thursday the single-engine plane went out of radar contact about 15 minutes into the flight to Pearson Field in Vancouver, Washington.
The single-engine plane took off Tuesday evening from Hobby Field at Creswell, south of Eugene.
Lt. Col. Ira Rosenberg of the Civil Air Patrol said Thursday there are number of hilly and forested areas in the valley that could conceal a plane. Authorities are looking for clipped treetops or similar indications of a crash.
Authorities haven't released the pilot's name. Sgt. Carrie Carver of the Lane County sheriff's department says there's no indication of foul play or anything other than a routine flight.
