Virginia State University locked down after shooting; Manassas murder charge dropped

ETTRICK, Va. - Five people were shot outside Virginia State University residence halls early Saturday, and one victim remains in critical condition, university officials said.
What we know:
Officers responded around 1:28 a.m. to the 3300 block of Boisseau Street and found five people suffering from gunshot wounds outside VSU residence halls.
All five victims were taken to area hospitals.
One person is in critical condition. The other four sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, according to the university.
VSU student released from hospital
Virginia State University said one of the five people shot was a VSU student.
The student suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and has since been released from the hospital.
Campus update
The university said law enforcement does not believe there is an immediate threat to the VSU campus community.
The lockdown has been lifted, but VSU Police will maintain an increased presence on campus as the investigation continues.
