CLE ELUM, Wash. -- There were multiple collisions Tuesday on both sides of Snoqualmie Pass including one fatality, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Brian Moore.
Moore said one car going too fast for conditions rolled over around 6 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-90 just east of Cle Elum. One person was killed and another taken to the hospital in critical condition, he said.
It was heavily snowing and there were numerous other collisions reported Tuesday on both sides of Snoqualmie Pass, Moore said.
Another collision involved an overturned semi that landed on top of a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup suffered only minor injuries, Moore said.
Trooper Moore advised drivers to slow down and avoid driving through the area if possible. Eastbound traffic was scheduled to be shut down around 1 p.m. for avalanche control work.
