SEATTLE -- Lakewood police said Thursday they believe an accused murderer who's still at large after escaping from Western State Hospital bought a bus ticket from Seattle to Spokane Wednesday night.
Anthony Garver bought a Greyhound ticket at a about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday using the name John Anderson, Lakewood police Lt. Chris Lawler said.
Garver and Mark Alexander Adams escaped from the hospital Wednesday evening, but
Adams was arrested in Des Moines on Thursday morning.
Police said Garver, 28, is dangerous to others. He was being treated for mental illness under court commitment out of Snohomish County.
Garver is white, 28, described as 5-foot-8, 250 pounds, with long curly brown hair and a beard/mustache. He was last seen wearing a brown faded sweatshirt and orange jail flip-flops.
Garver, on supervision with the Department of Corrections, was arrested for first-degree murder in 2013 and found not competent to stand trial. He is accused of tying a 20-year-old woman to a bed in a home in Lake Stevens and then stabbing her more than a dozen times in what police officers called a gruesome murder. Garver was at the hospital to receive treatment. He is originally from the Spokane area, but his crime was in Snohomish County.
