Police: Man shot and killed near park; second deadly Federal Way shooting in 24 hours

FEDERAL WAY -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting after they found a man slumped over inside of a vehicle overnight. Police blocked the area around South 333rd Street and 24th Avenue South near Cedar Grove Park Tuesday morning. Investigators say someone shot and killed the 27-year-old Tacoma man.

In the past 24 hours, police have responded to several shootings in Federal Way.

On Monday morning, police found a 26-year-old man dead inside an apartment near the 1300 block of SW Campus Dr. Investigators said he was shot in the back.

Federal Way Police also responded to a shooting near the 3000 block of South 288th Street around 9:00 Monday morning. Investigators say a 21-year-old was shot in the chest while inside of a vehicle. Detectives say the victim was shot by a 19-year-old who was also in the vehicle. Police believe the shooting may have been an accident.

All three shootings are under investigation.
