AUBURN – Two men are accused in the shooting death of a 19-year-old acquaintance whose body was found in the rubble of a mobile home fire in Auburn.
According to probable-cause documents released Monday, Auburn’s Mike Clayton was killed in retaliation for beating up one of the suspects. Q13 News isn't naming the suspects because they haven't been charged.
Police believe the two men made a plan to wait at the trailer for Clayton and shoot him. Once they’d done so, police say, they stole a truck from the Kent Parks Department and drove to Grays Harbor County, where they were stopped for speeding.

The police ran a check on the license plate and learned the truck was stolen, then searched the truck and found guns stolen from Clayton’s home.
Police said the two suspects admitted they shot and killed Clayton. They're being investigated on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree arson, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.
