MASON COUNTY -- A 10-month-old child was ejected from a car during a brutal crash Thursday night in Mason County, the Washington State Patrol said. The child was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
According to troopers, a 20-year-old female was driving in the 900 block of Klahchemin Drive 8 miles south of Shelton. She suddenly left the roadway, hit a ditch and spun 180 degrees, police said. The 10-month-old was ejected from the vehicle and sustained injuries during the crash. The child was transported to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma. The child's condition was not immediately known Friday morning.
Washington State Patrol troopers and local law enforcement agents are investigating the crash.
