Man attacks customers in Ballard
SEATTLE - Seattle police have taken a man into custody after he smashed a window at a local restaurant and attacked a store owner in Ballard on Saturday afternoon.
Police believe the 22-year-old suspect was high on meth and PCP when he smashed the window at La Isla Restaurant around noon.
Surveillance video shows restaurant patrons running out after the suspect broke the window and came through, The suspect chased them out of the restaurant with a large piece of glass in his hands.
The suspect ran down the street where he attacked the store owner of Classic Consignment. Parking lot attendant, Gary Holosek says he attacked his sister.
“He almost slit her throat, “says Holosek.
When Holosek ran over to protect her, the suspect attacked him. Holosek received a cut on the hand.
Holosek says he wrestled the glass out of the suspect’s hands when three good Samaritans grabbed the suspect and threw him on the ground until the police came.
Holosek and his sister received minor injuries in the altercation.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he will remain under police guard until he is released. He will be booked into the King County jail for felony assault and malicious mischief charges.
