Suspected Seattle purse snatcher caught on video
SEATTLE -- Seattle Police are hoping someone can identify this suspected purse snatcher.
She followed a woman up the escalator at the U.S. Bank Centre at 1420 5th Ave.
"I felt somebody behind me. I thought, you're kinda coming on too close," said Harriet who was returning to her office from a late movie.
As they moved off camera, "This gal just started yanking on my purse really hard and we kind of struggled," said Harriet, who tried to chase the thief.
She was caught on video running down the stairs and out the door onto 5th Avenue.
Harriet lost everything, including two iPhones, her makeup, identification, keys and credit cards.
The suspect is described as having an olive-colored complexion, long wavy hair, about 5-foot-5 with a slender build.
Detectives say she may have been with an black man working as her accomplice.
"By the time they checked the area and turned around, he was long gone so they sort of feel like this particular person was a second suspect in the case and maybe he was acting as a lookout," said retired Seattle police detective Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. If you know who the woman is, call the hotline anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
