LARGO, Fla. -- A veteran's final Facebook post is going viral after he was killed by an alleged drunken driver on New Year's Eve.
Matthew DeRemer, 31, was riding his motorcycle in Largo, Florida, when he was struck, Fox 13 News reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours before he died, DeRemer wrote a Facebook post reflecting on obstacles he overcame in 2015 and appearing hopeful for 2016.
The last sentence of his post was the most chilling.
Friends and family members began sharing the post and it eventually went viral.
DeRemer was a Marine veteran who had just gotten a job in the medical field, Fox 13 News reports.
Steven Lee Clarke, 59, was arrested for the crash and charged with DUI manslaughter.
