WATCH: Microsoft wants to turn your living room into a fully interactive video game

REDMOND, Wash -- Microsoft is pushing the envelope again with a new video that turns a family living room into a fully interactive video game.

The RoomAlive concept pushes Xbox and the Kinext sensors to a whole new level.

In the demo video projectors map the walls of the room with a gaming environment. Then the gamer is able to move about the room interacting with characters and features everywhere. The gamer can literally reach out and hit objects in the game or if they choose stay seated on the couch and control a character who can walk across the floor, up walls and pretty much anywhere.

Microsoft showed of a similar concept, IllumiRoom, last year. But the RoomAlive concept goes much much further.

From The Verge:

Currently RoomAlive would be too expensive for the average gamer, but Microsoft is confident this is where the future for consumer electronics is headed.
