Washington issues World Cup whale alert

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup drawing heavy boat traffic to the Pacific Northwest , Washington wildlife officials are urging boaters to stay 1,000 yards away from endangered southern resident killer whales to prevent noise interference with their hunting.
