Court documents say Donaway met his victim, a 15 year old girl, on 'MeetMe. com' in late March. He listed himself as a 16 year old boy, but later told the victim online that he was 25 years old. The two then began communicating through the phone app, 'Kik." Court documents say his account name was originally "Ben Don", but he changed it to "Big Ben 989898." The court documents say at one point, Donaway made the victim promise to delete all of their messages when they were done talking, because he could get in big trouble and go to jail. Court documents say the two met up at Bellevue Square in early April, where he drove her to a nearby church parking lot and had sex with her in the back of his pickup truck. Court documents say afterwards, Donaway asked the victim to promise not to tell anyone they had sex, because he would get in a lot of trouble and that he was an important person. The victim told detectives Donaway never contacted her again. His arraignment is set for June 19th. Court documents say he's also being investigated in Kitsap County for the same type of crime with a victim of the same age -- a 15 year old girl he met online, picked up, and allegedly sexually assaulted in his truck.
WANTED IN BELLEVUE May 31, 2014 -- Bellevue police are asking for help identifying this man who's been targeting young victims on ‘MeetMe.com’ and the phone app ‘Kik.’ He's wanted now for communication with a minor for immoral purposes and for statutory rape of a child. Michelle Bart, co-founder of the National Women's Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation, says parents have to take 25 minutes to talk to their kids about predators. “All of us live with a predator. We all live with a predator in our homes and if you have a computer or smart phone, you either can be safe or sorry, and in order to be safe you need to be shielded. It's your responsibility to keep your children safe. Law enforcement, they can`t do it alone. It takes the community.” Detectives say he may live in Renton.
