LIVE updates: USA vs Bosnia-Herzegovina in World Cup knockout stage
The United States is looking for a victory in the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time since 2002, and their first win over a European side in over four years.
The 2002 tournament was the last time the U.S. won a knockout stage match (vs. Mexico) and the last time they beat a European team in the World Cup (vs. Portugal). Meanwhile, the Americans haven't beaten a European team in 12 consecutive matches, with ten losses and two draws. Their last win came against Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2021.
If the U.S. wins, they'll advance to the Round of 16 to face the winner of Belgium and Senegal on Monday in Seattle. Those teams play at Seattle Stadium at 1 p.m.
Christian Pulisic appears ready to play for the U.S. after playing 32 minutes as a substitute in the team's 3-2 loss to Türkiye in the final match of the group stage.
