Amazon says its 'Dash Button' lets you press button to reorder your favorite products

Amazon has announced Dash Buttons, an easy way for Amazon Prime subscribers to quickly order household items -- and it's all available at the push of a button.

While the timing of the announcement is a bit suspicious (only one day before April Fools' Day), the product is apparently very real.

The Dash Button is linked to an item (like Bounty paper towels, Tide detergent, etc.) and is placed where you store the item.

When you're running low, you can press the button to order more of the product. Once an order is placed, a notification is sent to your phone where you can cancel the order if the button was pushed on accident.

The button includes a reusable adhesive and a hook to allow you to "hang, stick, or place it right where you need it."

Here's the explanation from Amazon:

If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can request an invitation for the Dash Buttons.
