Bomb threat, suspicious item forces evacuation of area high school for second day in a row

FEDERAL WAY -- Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way was released early Thursday for the second day in a row after a suspicious item was found on the campus following a bomb threat, officials said.

Shortly after noon, school officials received a bomb threat emailed directly to the school, Federal Way Public Schools said. Police evacuated the school, officials said, and a suspicious item was found on campus.

Bomb squads were called to the school around 2 p.m. The exact contents of the suspicious items were not yet released, but no incendiary device was found.

This is the second day in a row officials have evacuated the school following a bomb threat and suspicious package found on campus. On April 1, officials released this statement:
