TISDALE, Saskatchewan -- Is it time for a change in one small Canadian town?
For at least the last 60 years the town of Tisdale has called itself "The Land of Rape and Honey," and now town leaders are asking whether that slogan should remain.
The phrase, seen on the welcome sign on the outskirts of town, actually refers to rapeseed and honey, according to the Star Phoenix newspaper.
That’s where the new survey of residents comes into the conversation. According to the survey, rapeseed only accounts for less than 1 percent of crops grown in the region and "honey production has decreased significantly."
So the Economic Development Office wants residents to tell them if it’s time for a change.
“Do you believe it is time for Tisdale to update our Town brand?”
