Pilot dies in plane crash
The pilot in the ultralight plane was the only person on board.
ARLINGTON, Wash. - Law enforcement responded to the scene of a deadly plane crash that happened Friday afternoon at the Arlington Municipal Airport.
According to city spokesperson Sarah Lopez, crews responded to the airport around 3 p.m. for reports of an ultralight plane crash on Runway 16. Ultralight planes are custom-made, one-seater planes that don't need any certifications or safety checks to fly because they can't go above 55 knots at full power.
The pilot was the sole occupant and was killed.
An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is also investigating.
