Emerald Queen Casino cancels Ted Nugent concerts in wake of alleged racist comments by the rocker

TACOMA, Wash – A second venue in the Pacific Northwest is cancelling scheduled concerts by Ted Nugent after a wave of complaints appeared online and in the media that the singer had made racist remarks about President Obama.

The Emerald Queen Casino announced the Nugent concerts scheduled for August 2nd and 3rd had been cancelled and refunds would be given at the point of purchase.

A spokesperson for the casino stopped short of offering a reason for the decision.  But on the casino's Facebook page a number of comments can be seen first calling for the concerts to be cancelled and then thanking the casino for the decision to cancel and citing concerns over Nugent's alleged comments.

In the past Nugent has called President Obama a ‘subhuman mongrel’ and then apologized.

Earlier this week the Coeur d’Alene Casino cancelled its scheduled concerts for Nugent.  From its Facebook page:

Nugent blasted his critics in an interview with Radio.com blaming liberal critics for pressuring the casinos into cancelling his shows.
