Expect nasty commute amid heavy rain, strong winds

SEATTLE -- A major fall storm packing heavy rain and strong winds was moving into the region in the early morning hours and was expected to make for a nasty Wednesday commute.

The National Weather Service on Tuesday night issued a "flood warning" for the Skokomish River in Mason County. It said flooding is expected Wednesday morning.

Washington State Ferries, citing high winds, canceled the 8:30 p.m. ferry sailing from Port Townsend and the 9:10 p.m. sailing from Coupeville.
