Fire crews put out house fire in Tacoma

Fire crews knocked down a fire that damaged an empty two-story house in Tacoma.

The house, plastered with ‘No Trespassing’ signs, is located near Sixth Avenue and L Street. Crews were called to the house just before 7 a.m. when a fire spread from the first floor up to the second.

Firefighters went in and looked for anyone possibly trapped inside, but did not find anybody. They put out the second-floor fire while others attacked the flames on the first floor. Several engines were called in to assist.

No firefighters were injured in the call, and officials are working to find out what caused the fire to break out.
