Level 3 'Go Now' wildfire evacuations issued in Grant & Douglas Counties; 2,400 acres burning

Level 3 evacuation orders issued for neighborhood near Quincy

The Level 3 evacuation notices were issued for Rd 12 NW and RD W NW (Trinidad/Crescent Bar area) due to a wildfire.

The Grant County and Douglas County Sheriff's Offices are urging certain residents to "go now" due to the Baird Springs Fire burning nearby. 

The fire is burning approximately 2,400 acres, most of which are in Grant County.

Grant County 

The Level 3 evacuation notices were issued for Rd 12 NW and RD W NW (Trinidad/Crescent Bar area) due to a wildfire. Road 11.2 NW and Road U NW near Trinidad/Crescent were also issued a "leave now" evacuation order. 

Law enforcement officers will go door-to-door to notify people within the Level 3 evacuation area. 

A Level 1 evacuation notice (be alert) has been issued for Baird Springs Rd NW S of Rd W NW.

A shelter-in-place notice was issued for Crescent Bar. Residents are asked to stay indoors, shut off outside air intakes, and close windows and doors. 

Douglas County

Level 3 evacuations have been issued for: 

  • Stuhlmiller Rd
  • Freese Rd
  • Coles Rd
  • Rose Rd

The following have been issued level 2 evacuation notifications:

  • Mansfield Rd
  • Elk View Dr
  • Basalt Dr
  • Basalt View Dr
  • Desert Rose Pl
  • Columbia View Rd

A Red Cross emergency shelter will be opening at Quincy Middle School at 7:30 p.m. for those who had to evacuate. 

Deputies say the fire is moving to the south, and that Quincy is not at risk.
