Auburn police investigating 2 deadly hit-and-runs from the same night

On Thursday, police say a motorcyclist was killed by a driver, and a person getting out of their car was hit by another driver in Auburn. The instances do not appear to be connected, but they happened to occur within an hour of each other.

Auburn Police are investigating two deadly, separate instances, of a hit-and-run.

Police were first called to the 4500 block of Auburn Way N. at 45th Ave. around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday. They say a man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle on the west side of the road.

Witnesses say the man was stepping in and out of the lanes when he was killed. The driver who hit him sped away.

Police have not released any suspect or vehicle information for this crash. They are asking anyone with information to give them a call at 253-288-7403.

At 9:15 p.m., police responded to a second hit-and-run at the intersection of S. Peasley Canyon Road and West Valley Highway South.

A 34-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a vehicle and killed, police said.

The driver was taken into custody after a portion of her license broke off at the scene, according to Auburn PD.

Police are still investigating both instances. FOX 13 will have updates as they become available.
