Detectives are looking for suspects in at least five convenience store armed robberies and a kidnapping in Pierce County over the weekend.

Police told FOX 13 most of the robberies happened in Pierce County. One of the robberies happened in Lakewood in the 3700 block of Steilacoom Boulevard.

Sgt. Darren Moss, Jr., with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, said three robberies and kidnapping happened in Midland

At about 11 p.m. Saturday, a 76 gas station on Canyon Road East was robbed at gunpoint. Deputies said several men in their 20s went to the store, one pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, and another stole merchandise before fleeing in two vehicles.

About 10 minutes later, another robbery call came in at a Chevron on Portland Avenue East.

According to Moss, as the robbery was underway in the store, one of the suspects got out of one of the vehicles and stole a white SUV parked at the gas pump. The owner of the SUV, ran outside to stop the theft because her 3-year-old daughter was in the backseat.

"As she was trying to get the rear door open the suspect drove forward causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect drove a short distance and then ditched the car, possibly because he realized there was a child in the back seat," Moss said.

A few minutes after the robbery on Portland Avenue East, the Union 76 Gs station on Portland Avenue East was robbed.

Police described the suspects as young adults, between the ages of 15 and 25 years old, about 5 feet and 8 inches tall to 5 feet and 10 inches tall and with a slim build. They were armed with at least a pistol and knife, and could be driving a stolen dark blue Kia sedan or a white Kia Soul.
