BELLEVUE -- Bellevue police say a 32-year-old Lynnwood man with an extensive criminal history smashed into seven cars and attempted to car jack several innocent people before witnesses took him down and police could arrest him.
Witnesses described the horrifying scene.
"Just a really scary, terribly frightening experience," one woman said clutching her young child.
Jin Wohn caught the arrest on video and couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"I had to pinch myself to see if this was real. I was helping a customer and we both heard the screeching sound, the brakes hit and cars collide," he said.
Witnesses say a man was driving north on Factoria Blvd in Bellevue when he started screaming about the Messiah, the end is near and the world is doomed. He was weaving in and out of traffic and then began ramming cars with his vehicle. When his car broke down he attempted to steal another car.
Mark Koss said the suspect began assaulting him when he wouldn't give the man his car.
"At which point he sat down on me and he was like you're going with me. Youre coming with me. If I can't get you out of the car you're coming with me," Koss said.
Police finally arrested the suspect before he could get away. He was arrested under for suspected DUI, attempted car jacking, assault and hit and run.
