CAPTURE UPDATE August 18, 2015 -- Shauntel Raymur, a.k.a. “The Birthday Cake Bandit” was arraigned Tuesday in Snohomish County  court on two counts of 2nd Degree Identity Theft. Raymur pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors argued she’s a flight risk and asked to raise her bail to $50,000, saying she has been living in Arizona since March and is facing similar charges there. Raymur’s defense attorney requested she be released on her own recognizance with a promise to appear in court.  Because the charges haven’t been filed with the court yet in Arizona the judge left Raymur’s bail at $5,000, but if she gets out of jail she is ordered to remain in Washington state and to meet with her attorney before her next court date. Raymur is scheduled to be back in court on August 28th and her trial is set for September 25th.

"She's had three cases here in our county,” says Skagit County Chief Chad Clark. “One from the Sheriff's Office, one from Burlington and I believe one from Anacortes. This is a prolific person that we need to get off the streets because once they do it they're not going to stop until they get caught. She's not going to take a break now because she's been lucky this many times.” Raymur was dubbed the 'Birthday Cake Bandit' by Snohomish County detectives for breaking into vehicles and using stolen credit card to buy fast food and cake.
