SEATTLE -- A company based in Seattle is recalling some frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria which can lead to serious and sometimes fatal infections.
The recall from National Frozen Foods Corporation affects several brands sold at Target, Walmart and through Schwan's.
The vegetables were distributed to stores across the country between Sept. 2, 2015 and June 2, 2016.
Officials say following cooking directions on the labels will effectively reduce the risk of exposure.
Consumers are urged not to eat these products, and to return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
