SEE IT: This is what it looks like when a palm tree catches fire in a windstorm

LOS ANGELES -- A palm tree burst into flames on Christmas morning sending embers flying down the street as high winds whipped across southern California.

According to KTLA, the fire started around 3:00 a.m. Thursday in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles.

No injuries were reported. A freelance cameraman said the fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.

It's unclear what caused the visually stunning fire which knocked out power to nearly 12,000 customers.
