Shooting at Lynnwood hotel leaves man dead, woman injured
A man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in Lynnwood, Washington.
LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Police are investigating a deadly shooting early Tuesday morning at a Lynnwood hotel.
The shooting happened at about 2:30 a.m. at the Best Western Alderwood hotel near 36th Avenue West and 194th Place Southwest.
According to police, a man who was staying at the hotel confronted a man and woman trying to steal his truck and fired his gun at them.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man slumped over in the driver's seat and a woman outside the truck with a gunshot wound.
Officers attempted life-saving measures on the man but he died from his injuries. The woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police detained the truck owner in the parking lot and recovered the gun.
Investigators said another car found in the parking lot was likely connected with the incident. It was determined the car was reported stolen out of Burien.
