Southwest Airlines says tech glitch causing flight delays nationwide

DALLAS (AP) — Southwest Airlines says technology issues have delayed some flights as airline employees have to process travelers manually as they arrive at airports.

At Los Angeles International Airport, several dozen people crowded the Southwest terminal, waiting to be issued hand-written tickets.

We found several flights impacted at Sea-Tac International Airport.

The company said that as of Sunday afternoon, about 450 flights set to operate on Sunday had been affected by short delays.

In a statement on its website, the Dallas-based airline said it's working on the technology issues and airport-based employees are helping customers with their individual itineraries:

Southwest did not immediately respond to messages seeking further details Sunday.
