Car crashes into Puyallup home, hits resident

Police are investigating after a suspected DUI driver crashed into Puyallup home Thursday morning.

Police are investigating after a suspected DUI driver crashed into Puyallup home Thursday morning. 

Officers and crews with Central Pierce Fire responded to the scene of a car into a home off 23rd Street Place Southeast.

According to police, an 81-year-old woman was sleeping when she was hit inside the home. The impact forced her into another room, pinning her against the wall. 

There were other people inside the home and they rushed to help the woman. 

She was taken hospital with injuries. 

Investigators told FOX 13, the 51-year-old driver lost control and crashed into the home. It's unknown how fast the driver was traveling. 

There was no pursuit or interaction with police before the crash happened. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
