The '5 Second Rule' might not save you from germs... but there's a loophole

SEATTLE -- Bad news, friends. Turns out, the "5 Second Rule" may not apply.

A new story in the Washington Post says most bacteria can transmit to food in less than a second.

However, the amount of stickiness in the food and the surface the food falls on play into how quickly germs transfer.
