PASCO, Wash. (AP) — The Franklin County Sheriff's office is investigating the deaths of two people found badly burned in a car as a double homicide.
The Tri-City Herald reports that the bodies were found Thursday night in a car that was hidden in a ravine about a mile off the road.
Sheriff Jim Raymond says investigators have tentatively identified the victims. They say it was an adult and a child.
A volunteer firefighter spotted smoke coming from the ravine about 5:45 p.m. and went to investigate. The firefighter found a car engulfed in flames.
The bodies were discovered after the fire was put out. Autopsies are being scheduled.
Raymond says they've identified a person or persons of interest in the case.
