Two people hurt in Kent apartment fire

KENT - A three-alarm fire early Friday morning injured two residents at the Mosaic Hill apartment complex in Kent. Kent Fire department spokesman Don Barbarie reported that the fire broke out just after 2 a.m. at the apartments in the 23600 block of 108th Place Southeast.

Barbarie said that when firefighters arrived on scene they saw flames and smoke coming from one of the apartment buildings. The fire response quickly went to a second, and then a third-alarm, as more fire crews were called in.

Two residents were injured as they reportedly jumped from third floor balconies, Barbarie said. Medics transported the two residents to an area hospital; their conditions are not known.

The cause of the fire and damage estimate have not yet been determined. This is a developing story and new information will be posted as soon as possible.

Tom Yazwinski will have a live report from the fire scene coming up on Q13FOX News This Morning.
