SEATTLE - The State Republican party is calling for Democratic State Auditor Troy Kelley to step down.
Kelly's office turned over documents to the feds today, after a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice.
This followed a search over the weekend of his Tacoma home that lasted five hours.
Officals have not yet disclosed the focus of their investigation or what they may have found during the search.
State Republican Chair Susan Hutchison says Kelley should step down until the issue is settled. “The citizens of this state are not served when the character of the state auditor is called into question,” Hutchison said.
